Résumé du résultat

Juan Díaz bat Malcolm Wellmaker Soumission (rear naked choke) · R2 4:08

Juan Díaz submitted Malcolm Wellmaker with a rear naked choke at 4:08 of round two in a bantamweight main-card bout at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Costa in Las Vegas. Díaz spent the first round settling into the pace but finished it with the advantage before forcing a grappling exchange in the second. He transitioned to Wellmaker's back and locked in the choke for the tap. The 27-year-old Peruvian, who earned his Contender Series call-up by landing the first spinning back elbow finish in that show's history, improved to 16-1-1 with the result. Wellmaker, looking to rebound from the first professional loss of his career, now drops to consecutive defeats.

Aperçu du combat

Malcolm Wellmaker bounces back from the first loss of his career against Juan Díaz, a Peruvian bantamweight who announced himself to the UFC audience with the first spinning back elbow finish in Contender Series history and enters the Octagon carrying that momentum. Wellmaker's aggression and finishing instinct meet Díaz's creative, unorthodox striking in a bantamweight fight loaded with highlight-reel potential.

Clés de la victoire

Malcolm Wellmaker

  1. Pressure Díaz from the opening bell and prevent him from finding rhythm with his creative unorthodox striking.
  2. Take the fight to the mat to neutralize Díaz's spinning techniques and dictate the terms of engagement.
  3. Commit to finishing rather than settling for decision work — passive fighting exposes Wellmaker to Díaz's knockout danger.

Juan Díaz

  1. Create distance and use angles to land his unorthodox signature shots before Wellmaker smothers his offensive output.
  2. Time Wellmaker's forward rushes with clean counter shots that exploit his aggressive and predictable entry patterns.
  3. Mix spinning attacks with conventional combinations to keep Wellmaker guessing and prevent him from timing his entries.
