Résumé du résultat
Yadier del Valle stopped Darren Elkins by TKO at 0:35 of the first round in their featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs. Salkilld on August 8, 2026. Del Valle neutralized Elkins' immediate takedown attempt and landed a knee to the head in the clinch, then caught the veteran with a short left hook that left him visibly wobbled. A clean follow-up left hand sent Elkins crashing to the canvas and ended the contest. The victory returned del Valle to the win column following his first career loss in February. For Elkins, the defeat closed a 16-year UFC tenure that began in 2010, during which he compiled 19 victories across 31 Octagon appearances.
Aperçu du combat
Darren "The Damage" Elkins (29-12) steps into the Octagon for the final time in a retirement fight that caps a 16-year career in the UFC that included bouts with Alexander Volkanovski and Charles Oliveira — a send-off that demands respect regardless of the result. He faces Cuban prospect Yadier del Valle (10-1), who is hungry to rebound from his first professional loss and reassert himself as one of the featherweight division's most watchable submissions artists.
Clés de la victoire
Darren Elkins
- Lean on his trademark grit and forward pressure to impose his will on a less experienced opponent and go out on his own terms with a statement performance.
- Use 16 years of elite-level experience to read del Valle's grappling setups and avoid getting caught in the submission attempts that define the Cuban's game.
- Give the crowd a Darren Elkins fight — tough, unrelenting pressure — and trust his chin and conditioning to carry him through any adversity.
Yadier del Valle
- Establish his submission game early and look for the same first-round finish that has defined his best performances before the fight enters a grinding Elkins pace.
- Use his youth and physical freshness against an Elkins who is returning from a 16-month layoff and entering the cage for the last time at 41.
- Mix in wrestling and clinch grappling to keep Elkins uncomfortable and prevent the forward march that has allowed Elkins to overwhelm opponents throughout his career.
