Main Event: Malott Closes the Book on Burns
The opening rounds told a familiar story. Burns worked his legs, dug hooks to the body, and tried to drag the fight to the mat where his jiu-jitsu could take over. Malott handled every entry. Burns showed the kind of heart that has defined his career — scrambling back to his feet and firing back — but Malott put him down a second time and unloaded with ground-and-pound until referee Herb Dean stepped in at 2:08. Co-Main: Jourdain and Phillips Deliver a War
Kyler Phillips started stronger of the two, using dynamic footwork and early grappling attempts to control the opening frame and keep Jourdain's pressure in check. Jourdain, as he often does, kept his foot on the gas through all three rounds, refusing to slow down or play it safe. By the midpoint, Jourdain was consistently out-landing Phillips, and in the third, he broke the American open above the eye and took over the exchanges completely.
All three judges scored it 29-28 for the French-Canadian, continuing a strong run for Jourdain in the bantamweight division. Both fighters received Fight of the Night bonuses worth $100,000 each — a deserved reward for a genuinely contested, back-and-forth battle.
Jasudavicius Outworks Silva in Ranked Flyweight Clash
Women's flyweight contenders Jasmine Jasudavicius and Karine Silva met in a fight that mattered for both women's rankings, and Jasudavicius handled it cleanly. The Canadian smothered Silva throughout, pushing her against the fence, grinding in the clinch, and denying the Brazilian the space she needed to set up her dangerous submission game. Silva had flashes of success on the feet but could never get comfortable. Three rounds of disciplined, physical wrestling produced a clean 29-28 unanimous decision for Jasudavicius, getting her back on track after a loss to Manon Fiorot.
Notable Prelim Finishes
Márcio Barbosa made the most emphatic first impression of any debuting fighter on the night. The featherweight walked Dennis Buzukja down with pure aggression and put him to sleep with a perfect left hook at 1:20 of Round 1. Clean, violent, and completely one-sided. Barbosa earned a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus in his first UFC appearance.
Gokhan Saricam had a statement heavyweight performance of his own, cutting off the cage and battering hometown favorite Tanner Boser with heavy combinations in the second round before stopping him at 4:43.
