Main Event: Song Yadong Submits Figueiredo
The first round was a clinic in damage accumulation. Song went to the leg relentlessly, throwing hard low kicks at Figueiredo's lead leg from the opening exchanges. Co-Main: Menifield and Zhang Earn Fight of the Night
Alonzo Menifield stopped Zhang Mingyang at 4:15 of round one at light heavyweight, and the two split the $100,000 Fight of the Night bonus for what they produced before the stoppage. Menifield earned the TKO, but Zhang made it a fight first — the pace and physicality between the two made this the most engaging stretch on the main card outside the main event. Kai Asakura: Long-Awaited UFC Win
Kai Asakura had been one of the most anticipated signings to come out of the UFC's relationship with RIZIN. The former RIZIN bantamweight champion arrived at the UFC in 2024 carrying real credentials, and on Saturday in Macau he cashed them in. A first-round TKO of Cameron Smotherman earned him a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus alongside Song Yadong. The crowd was already primed, and Asakura gave them a finish to celebrate. He enters the UFC record books with one of the biggest bonuses available on his debut — and sets expectations accordingly.
Pavlovich Back in the Win Column
Sergei Pavlovich finished Tallison Teixeira by TKO in round one at heavyweight. Pavlovich came in needing a win after his setback against Jon Jones, and he delivered efficiently. The finish was direct — a punch combination Teixeira could not answer at 0:25 of round one. Rei Tsuruya submitted Luis Gurule by rear naked choke in the first round at bantamweight. Tsuruya's ground game is ahead of his experience, and he is building a run that will earn him a main card spot before long.
Jaqueline Amorim tapped out Loma Lookboonmee with an armbar in the first round at strawweight — another quick finish on a record that shows she knows how to close out a fight. Angela Hill took a unanimous decision over Jingnan Xiong to give the strawweight division one of its more experienced fighters a win worth noting.
The Alex Perez vs. Su Mudaerji flyweight bout was ruled a no contest after the stoppage at 1:45 of round one. No further result.
