Tale of the Tape
Result Summary
Fight Overview
Arijan Topallaj, the Albanian Eagle out of Germany with an 8-2-1 record and seven first-round finishes, collides with Czech lightweight Jan Stanovský at OKTAGON's first Berlin event. Topallaj has been virtually unstoppable at this level, making quick work of opponents across German regional MMA before graduating to OKTAGON, while Stanovský enters on a strong run — most recently submitting Lukasz Rajewski at OKTAGON 86 with vicious ground-and-pound elbows from a triangle. Two aggressive, finish-oriented lightweights who refuse to let fights go the distance makes this one of the sleeper bouts on the card.
Keys to Victory
Arijan Topallaj
- Initiate explosive early exchanges and hunt for his signature first-round finish before Stanovský can settle into his rhythm.
- Pressure Stanovský against the cage and use his ferocious ground-and-pound to overwhelm the Czech fighter's defensive guard.
- Dictate the range with forward movement and prevent Stanovský from using distance to set up takedown attempts.
Jan Stanovský
- Survive Topallaj's dangerous first round by staying patient, covering up defensively, and picking safe counter opportunities.
- Use his triangle and submission game to trap Topallaj during ground exchanges and negate the Eagle's punching power from top position.
- Establish clinch control and dirty-box to tire Topallaj out, slowing his explosive pressure over the middle and late rounds.
