Niamh Kinehan def. Alana Cook KO (punches) · R2 0:48
Fight Overview
Irish Muay Thai world champion Niamh Kinehan, who unified the most prestigious belts in the sport's history and brings elite striking credentials into the MMA cage, tests her game against Canadian veteran Alana Cook (6-2), who makes history as the first Indigenous woman on an OKTAGON card. Cook's MMA experience edge and all-round competitive durability represent exactly the kind of test that separates elite strikers from complete mixed martial artists.
Keys to Victory
Niamh Kinehan
- Establish dominant striking range immediately using Muay Thai world-champion clinch work and distance management before Cook can exploit MMA-specific tools.
- Stay off the ground where Cook's MMA experience advantage becomes most dangerous — keep the fight in the striking exchanges where Kinehan's skills are elite-level.
- Apply psychological pressure with her world-champion striking pedigree and force Cook into a defensive, reactive fight plan from the start.
Alana Cook
- Take the fight to the ground as quickly as possible and deny Kinehan the striking exchanges where Muay Thai world-champion skills are most lethal.
- Use MMA experience and grappling to bridge the striking skill gap — Kinehan's elite stand-up does not automatically transfer to all dimensions of MMA.
- Make Kinehan uncomfortable in scrambles and transitions to expose the difference between world-class Muay Thai and well-rounded MMA readiness.
