Fight Overview

Václav Štěpán faces Sami Zarabi at featherweight at Oktagon 95, competing in one of the promotion's most technically demanding weight classes where the European featherweight circuit has produced a number of fighters who have gone on to compete at the highest levels globally. A standout showing at 145 pounds in Karlovy Vary can propel either fighter into serious consideration for ranked Oktagon matchups.

Keys to Victory

Václav Štěpán

  1. Use technical Muay Thai-influenced combinations to control the striking range and prevent Zarabi from finding his rhythm.
  2. Mix takedown threats with striking setups to keep Zarabi guessing between defending the shot and blocking punches.
  3. Impose a high pace throughout — featherweight fights in Oktagon are often decided by who sustains the higher output.

Aria Azarnoosh

  1. Use sharp counter-striking and lateral movement to avoid Štěpán's forward pressure and create clean offensive windows.
  2. Work submissions from any ground position — featherweights who add submission threats multiply their game plan's effectiveness.
  3. Stay active off the back foot and demonstrate enough offensive output to avoid letting Štěpán's aggression score unchallenged.
