Fight Overview
Another high-stakes Welterweight Tournament Quarterfinal pits the devastating striking of DR Congo's Eliezer Kubanza against the calculated length of Scotland-based Nigerian Kunle Lawal. Kubanza boasts an elite 86% KO finish rate, making him one of the most feared men in the bracket. Lawal, known as 'The Nigerian Ninja,' will look to leverage his 6'1" frame and technical prowess to solve the puzzle of Kubanza's explosive aggression and advance to the semi-finals.
Keys to Victory
Eliezer Kubanza
- Unload explosive combinations early to capitalize on his elite finishing ability and establish dominance.
- Cut off the SmartCage to trap Lawal and completely negate his distance management.
- Throw devastating body shots to slow down Lawal's lateral movement over the course of the bout.
Kunle Lawal
- Use his 6'1" frame and 75-inch reach to pump a stiff jab and keep the explosive Kubanza on the outside.
- Mix in well-timed level changes to disrupt Kubanza's striking rhythm and make him hesitant to blitz.
- Turn the bout into a gritty, grinding affair to push Kubanza into an exhausting, cardio-draining decision.
