Dwight Joseph def. Alain Majorique Decision (split) · R3 5:00
Fight Overview
Two fighters who both fell to the same man — 2025 PFL Africa bantamweight champion Wasi Adeshina — meet in the first round of the 2026 PFL Africa Tournament in Lagos, each hunting a second shot at the title. Joseph brings finishing power and polished all-around striking from Team Alpha Male, while Majorique is a durable, decision-grinding kung fu stylist who reached the inaugural final despite limited elite-level exposure.
Keys to Victory
Dwight Joseph
- Use dynamic striking range and flying attacks early to discourage Majorique from finding a rhythm.
- Avoid long grinding exchanges and look for the finish before the fight reaches the championship rounds.
- Exploit the reach and physical advantages by pressuring forward and denying Majorique the distance he needs to operate.
Alain Majorique
- Neutralize Joseph's flashy striking by closing distance quickly and smothering his kick and knee attacks.
- Drag the fight into deep rounds and grind out volume on the scorecards to swing all three judges.
- Use grappling entries off the clinch to disrupt Joseph's timing and limit his ability to reset and build momentum.
