Tale of the Tape
Result Summary
Malik Basahel def. Imad El Azami Decision (unanimous) · R3 5:00
Fight Overview
Saudi flyweight Malik Basahel is one of the PFL MENA circuit's most exciting prospects, arriving 3-0 with all wins by stoppage and none of his fights reaching the third round, trained at Asylum Vale Tudo in Leeds. Morocco's Imad 'Spider' El Azami steps in at 1-0 looking to derail that momentum, representing a growing wave of Moroccan fighters making their mark across the MENA region.
Keys to Victory
Malik Basahel
- Press the action immediately to replicate the high-tempo, first-half finish pattern he has shown in all three wins.
- Use wrestling and top control to limit El Azami's space and grind out a finish from dominant position.
- Stay disciplined on the feet and avoid trading recklessly with an opponent whose record shows finishing ability.
Imad El Azami
- Force the fight to deeper rounds where Basahel's gas tank and aggression have not yet been tested.
- Establish a disciplined jab and movement game to make Basahel miss and counter off the back foot.
- Look for submission openings if the fight hits the mat, as Basahel's grappling defence is still unproven at this level.
