Hamza Kooheji def. Taha Bendaoud Decision (unanimous) · R3 5:00
Fight Overview
Bahrain's Hamza Kooheji (14-4), one of the MENA region's most decorated and experienced featherweights, makes his PFL MENA debut against Morocco's rising submission specialist Taha 'Atlas Lion' Bendaoud (5-1) in a featherweight tournament quarterfinal. Kooheji brings over a decade of professional experience and a wrestling-heavy base, while Bendaoud's dangerous ground game has produced multiple submission finishes and makes him a credible threat to any fighter willing to engage on the mat.
Keys to Victory
Hamza Kooheji
- Control the fight with his wrestling and dictate where exchanges happen throughout all three rounds.
- Use top pressure and cage control to limit Bendaoud's submission attempts and grind out dominant rounds.
- Soften Bendaoud with short punches and elbows in the clinch before looking to finish late.
Taha Bendaoud
- Invite the grappling exchange and look to reverse or escape Kooheji's top position into submission attempts.
- Strike with urgency in the opening exchanges to keep Kooheji from establishing his wrestling game.
- Stay active off his back and attack guillotines and arm locks whenever Kooheji shoots or dives in.
