Result Summary
Rasul Magomedov def. Sullivan Cauley Decision (unanimous) · R3 5:00
Fight Overview
A power-striking Muay Thai specialist meets an undefeated freestyle wrestling world champion in one of the PFL light heavyweight division's most compelling stylistic collisions. Cauley brings 2025 PFL finals experience and the division's most dangerous standup game, while Magomedov arrives with combat sambo credentials and a dominant decision win that demonstrated his ability to suppress opponents with takedown-heavy grappling. Both are hunting a top-contender spot and neither has been stopped.
Keys to Victory
Sullivan Cauley
- Land Muay Thai strikes — elbows and knees in the clinch — before Magomedov can establish his takedown rhythm
- Use his collegiate wrestling base to stop Magomedov at the hips and wall-walk back to feet when taken down
- Apply relentless forward pressure early; Magomedov has been floored before and Cauley's power commands respect
Rasul Magomedov
- Shoot early wrestling in round one before Cauley finds his striking range and timing
- Tighten chin defense during the inevitable early striking exchanges — Cauley's power is real and Magomedov has been dropped before
- Maintain top control in extended ground positions and deploy sambo ground-and-pound to drain Cauley across three rounds
