The Sacramento crowd voiced audible displeasure with the fight's pace, booing as the final horn sounded.
Fight Overview
Ranked No. 6 Serghei Spivac, a proven submission threat with top control at heavyweight, takes on Vitor Petrino, a Brazilian finisher who has won three straight since moving up from light heavyweight in mid-2025. Spivac's grinding, grappling-heavy style is a direct counter to Petrino's tendency to brawl early and close fights quickly on the feet. A win for either man puts them squarely in the top-five conversation.
Keys to Victory
Serghei Spivac
- Close the distance early to limit Petrino's early power and establish clinch control.
- Use persistent top pressure and submission hunting in round two and three to grind Petrino down.
- Survive the first-round danger window when Petrino's one-punch power is at its highest.
Vitor Petrino
- Land early power shots to establish the knockout threat before Spivac can pull the fight to the mat.
- Exit clinch situations quickly and reset to striking range rather than fighting into takedown attempts.
- Use lateral movement and angles to keep Spivac chasing and prevent him settling into his jab-to-takedown sequence.
