Tale of the Tape
Result Summary
Robert Valentin submitted Dusko Todorovic with a guillotine choke at 0:45 of the opening round in a middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Medić vs. Rodriguez in Belgrade on August 1, 2026. The finish arrived within the first minute, with Valentin — a Swiss TUF 32 alumnus — securing the choke off an early scramble before Todorovic could mount any offense. The tapping came fast, the guillotine fully locked before the hometown crowd could get behind their fighter. The result extended Valentin's run to back-to-back submission victories after an 0-3 start to his UFC career, and underscored the all-finish approach he has carried into his recent resurgence.
Fight Overview
Serbian local Dusko Todorovic returns to his home city of Belgrade after a year-long injury layoff, facing TUF Season 32 finalist Robert Valentin, who just rebooted his UFC run with a first-round rear-naked choke finish in April. Eight of Valentin's twelve career wins have come by submission, making this a clear battle of Todorovic's striking output against Valentin's relentless grappling threat.
Keys to Victory
Dusko Todorovic
- Keep the fight standing at all costs — Valentin's submission rate makes every extended grappling exchange dangerous.
- Use forward pressure and striking volume to cut off Valentin's movement and deny him favorable clinch entries.
- Channel home crowd energy into sustained aggression that prevents Valentin from finding the grappling rhythm he needs.
Robert Valentin
- Force repeated grappling exchanges to tire Todorovic's stand-up game and create submission openings.
- Target takedown-to-back sequences that exploit any overextension from Todorovic pressing forward.
- Stay patient — eight of his wins are submissions, so he only needs one clean look to end the fight.
