Fight Overview
Alex Perez rides momentum from a first-round TKO win into this flyweight bout against Su Mudaerji, who has quietly strung together consecutive decisions and enters as a slight underdog despite carrying elite knockout power with over a dozen career TKOs. Perez's wrestling-heavy pressure game collides with Mudaerji's distance-striking Sanda base in a stylistic chess match between a grinder and a counter-striker.
Keys to Victory
Alex Perez
- Close distance quickly and chain takedowns to neutralize Mudaerji's rangy jab-and-straight striking game.
- Use wrestling to pin Mudaerji against the cage and grind him with top control and ground-and-pound.
- Vary levels constantly to keep Mudaerji guessing and prevent him from resetting to his preferred striking range.
Su Mudaerji
- Maintain range with sharp jabs and straight shots to punish Perez as he attempts to shoot for takedowns.
- Keep his hips free on the fence and work active guard to prevent Perez from establishing top-control sequences.
- Target the body early to slow Perez's wrestling pace and create openings for his power shots later.
