Donte Johnson stopped Eric McConico by TKO (punches) in their middleweight bout at UFC 330 on August 15, 2026, finishing the fight at 1:38 of round one. Johnson landed a long-range left hand that floored McConico, with the referee waving off the contest before McConico had settled to the canvas. The finish was swift and clean — Johnson found the shot from distance with McConico retreating, leaving the official little choice but to stop it immediately. With the win, Johnson improved to 9-0 overall and 3-0 inside the Octagon, cementing himself as a legitimate middleweight prospect.
Pregled borbe
Donte "Lockjaw" Johnson arrives at UFC 330 still unbeaten and riding the momentum of a debut guillotine finish over Sedriques Dumas that earned Performance of the Night honors, now tasked with a tougher measuring stick in Eric McConico — a 35-year-old veteran with a 77-inch reach and four first-round finishes who just won a decision over Rodolfo Vieira. This is a genuine proving-ground fight for the 27-year-old prospect.
Ključevi pobjede
Eric McConico
- Use his reach and power striking to keep Johnson on the outside and prevent him from entering clinch range.
- Test Johnson's defensive wrestling with level changes to see how the unbeaten prospect handles takedown threats at this level.
- Impose veteran pace and physical pressure throughout — Johnson has only one UFC fight and conditioning unknowns at this depth.
Donte Johnson
- Close distance with head movement to neutralize McConico's reach and drag the fight to the mat where his guillotine lives.
- Force clinch exchanges and look for submission setups in every scramble — his finish came from back-take-to-guillotine sequencing.
- Stay patient and trust his unbeaten confidence rather than rushing into McConico's heavy counter right hand early.
