Michael Aswell VS JooSang Yoo

Michael Aswell defeated JooSang Yoo by split decision at UFC 331 in a featherweight preliminary bout on September 19, 2026, snapping a two-fight losing streak. Aswell dictated the pace in the opening round with consistent leg kicks and overhand rights, but Yoo adjusted to southpaw in round two and began landing cleaner with his jab to pull even on the cards. The bout's decisive stretch came in round three when Yoo secured a takedown midway through and worked from top position with shoulder strikes, earning the round on two scorecards and making the fight extremely close. Aswell's edge in the earlier rounds proved decisive on the other two cards, with the judges ruling 29-28, 29-28, and 28-29 in his favor.
