Kaan Ofli defeated Javier Reyes by submission (arm triangle) at 4:16 of the first round at UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres in Baku on June 27, 2026. Ofli controlled the fight from the opening bell, pressuring Reyes with sharp striking and dictating the pace throughout. The finish came when Ofli dropped Reyes with a right hand, swarmed with follow-up punches, and transitioned smoothly into the arm triangle to force the tap. The victory marked Ofli's third consecutive win inside the octagon, extending a strong run of form for the 33-year-old Australian featherweight.
Kampf-Übersicht
Australian submission specialist Kaan "Genghis" Ofli, who submitted Ricardo Ramos in October 2025, faces Colombian pressure striker Javier "Blair" Reyes, who has stopped his last two opponents in the first round and lands over nine significant strikes per minute. The matchup pits Ofli's grappling-first game against a finisher who can hurt you standing or on the ground, making the takedown battle the defining variable in Baku.
Schlüssel zum Sieg
Kaan Ofli
- Force early grappling exchanges by cutting off the cage and securing underhook ties before Reyes establishes striking range.
- Avoid prolonged standing exchanges where Reyes's volume and pace can accumulate damage and swing judges.
- Chain takedown attempts in combination with strikes to prevent Reyes from anticipating and sprawling cleanly.
Javier Reyes
- Use lateral movement and feints to disrupt Ofli's forward pressure and keep the fight in the striking pocket.
- Defend the initial takedown aggressively and punish Ofli on the way back up to discourage repeated grappling entries.
- Maintain a high punch output in the early rounds to build a scoring lead before Ofli settles into his grappling game.
