Farman Hasanov defeated Eric Nolan by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres in Baku on June 27, 2026, delivering a dominant grappling performance across all three rounds in his promotional debut. Hasanov secured takedowns in every round, building sustained periods of ground control that left Nolan pinned for much of the contest and earning him what commentators noted was a UFC welterweight record for takedowns in a debut. Despite breathing heavily and appearing spent through the third round, Hasanov kept shooting and maintained his wrestling advantage to the final horn. Fighting on home soil in Azerbaijan, he drew the loudest ovation of the night from the Baku crowd and improved his record to 6-0.
Pregled borbe
Farman Hasanov makes his UFC debut on home soil in Baku, an undefeated Azerbaijani finisher with four KO/TKOs who has been fast-tracked after a stint at American Top Team, facing Eric Nolan — a Marine veteran and former CFFC welterweight champion who showed genuine UFC-level boxing in his debut before getting leg-kicked into submission against Susurkaev. The crowd factor and home-debut pressure add a narrative layer to what is fundamentally a striker vs. striker matchup between two men who both put fights away with their hands.
Ključevi pobjede
Farman Hasanov
- Use lateral movement and angles to avoid Nolan's straight punching power and prevent him from loading up cleanly.
- Establish volume early with combinations to keep Nolan reactive and stop him from timing a single counter shot.
- Exploit Nolan's demonstrated vulnerability to leg kicks to compromise his base and set up takedowns or late-round finishes.
Eric Nolan
- Close distance behind the jab and force the fight into phone-booth exchanges where his one-punch knockout power is most dangerous.
- Avoid the clinch and wrestling exchanges that exposed him against Susurkaev, staying upright where his boxing advantages apply.
- Weather the crowd noise and early pressure from a home-crowd debut, banking rounds with clean output before Hasanov settles in.
