UFC Freedom 250 arrives at the South Lawn of the White House on June 14 with two title fights at the top of the card. Main Event: Topuria vs. Gaethje — Lightweight Unification
Ilia Topuria enters at 17-0 as the undisputed 155-pound champion. He has finished 88 percent of his opponents, with seven wins by knockout and eight by submission. His undefeated record is the clearest measure of where he stands: no opponent at the highest level has found an answer before the final bell.
Justin Gaethje (27-5) holds the interim lightweight title. He is 37, has fought in the UFC since 2017, and the undisputed championship is the one prize that has eluded him through a career that includes two previous title attempts. He has stopped 20 of his opponents and built a style around relentless forward pressure and volume striking. His losses have come against elite grapplers — a data point that matters because Topuria finishes fights on the ground as well as on the feet.
The prefight buildup has been pointed. Gaethje made it personal in the weeks leading up; Topuria responded and said he sees no possibility his opponent wins. Arman Tsarukyan reportedly placed a $1 million wager on Gaethje, a sign that within the sport this is not viewed as a foregone conclusion. Topuria has stated his next goal after this fight is a welterweight matchup with Islam Makhachev. For Gaethje, at 37, this may be the last realistic shot at the undisputed belt.
Co-Main Event: Pereira vs. Gane — Interim Heavyweight Title
Tom Aspinall, the undisputed heavyweight champion, has been sidelined since suffering an eye injury in October. With no clear return timeline, the UFC created an interim title, and Alex Pereira stepped up to fight for it.
Pereira (13-3) was the UFC middleweight champion and then the UFC light heavyweight champion. He arrives at heavyweight with an 84.6 percent finish rate and eleven of his thirteen wins coming by knockout. A successful third-division title run would be a first in UFC history. He has said the interim heavyweight belt would "symbolize everything I've been through."
Ciryl Gane (13-2) is a former interim heavyweight champion with genuine technical range and lateral movement. His pattern in fights is to time counters and maintain distance rather than exchange at close quarters. Pereira needs to cut the cage and force contact; Gane's path runs through discipline and volume at range. The winner faces Aspinall for the undisputed belt upon his return.
Bantamweight: O'Malley vs. Zahabi
Sean O'Malley (19-3) lost the bantamweight title in consecutive fights against Merab Dvalishvili. He returned at UFC 324 in January with a decision win over Song Yadong. His next assignment is Aiemann Zahabi (14-2), currently on a seven-fight winning streak with victories over Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera. O'Malley is ranked third at bantamweight; Zahabi is sixth.
O'Malley is a -390 favorite on FanDuel. He has said a decision will not be enough — a finish is what opens the door to another title shot. Zahabi at +280 is a genuine upset candidate. The Canadian has said he is "coming for his head," and his recent wins give that statement credibility.
Lightweight: Ruffy vs. Chandler
Maurício Ruffy (13-2) stopped Rafael Fiziev at UFC 325 and has said he has "something special" planned for the White House stage. Chandler (23-10) has spent a long career in brutal exchanges and takes punishment while pressing forward. This matchup between a rising Brazilian finisher and a veteran American brawler has clear finish potential on both sides.
Other Bouts
Bo Nickal (8-1) faces Kyle Daukaus at middleweight. Nickal's elite wrestling has defined his rise and Daukaus is an experienced test at this stage. Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia close the main card at featherweight — Lopes has been consistently productive and dangerous in the division.
A federal lawsuit was filed seeking to block the event from the White House grounds. The UFC proceeded. Whatever the legal outcome, June 14 on the South Lawn will stand as a fight night unlike any before it.
